If you are thinking about buying your first home, don’t let the process be intimidating!  Davis Real Estate, Inc. is here to help you every step of the way.  Mortgage rates are very low so it’s a great time to buy a home.  There are many first time buyer programs available that make it very affordable.

Is it better to buy than rent?

The answer is almost always, yes.  When you own, you build equity and get to write off your mortgage interest. In addition, there is the ability to remodel and redecorate to your taste, something not allowed when renting.

Can I get a home loan?

Banks in this area are very willing to work with buyers to get mortgage loans.  There is a variety of options for home financing.  The best way to find out what is available is to speak to your bank to get details.  You can also shop around and find the bank with the best rates for you.

How do I know what I can afford?

Your bank will work with you to get preapproved for the amount you can afford, based on your debt to income ratio.  That way you will know what homes are in your price range before you go looking. A preapproval letter from your lender also gives you more clout when you make an offer.  Sellers know you have already been to the bank and know your offer is serious.

I’m preapproved, what now?

It’s time to contact one of our agents to help you with the next step.  We will work with you to find the home that fits your needs and budget. As part of the regional Multiple Listing Service, our agents can show you any home that is for sale in the area. You only need to work with one Realtor.

When you find your dream home, we do the paperwork and walk you through the process, making it as stress-free as possible.
